CELEBRATE CARTOONISTS DAY!

I have this Sunday comic strip with the initials of JM The date is October 19, 1944 Fred Lasswell is supposed to be the artist why and who is JM Can you tell me whose initials these are

Though Fred Lasswell wrote and drew most of the "Barney Google and Snuffy Smith" strips from 1942 through 1998, there were several occasions in 1943 and 1944 during which Joe Musial filled in while Lasswell was taking care of other obligations. Musial is best remembered for having drawn the "Katzenjammer Kids" from 1956-77. He was also known for his comic book covers, and occasionally ghosted for the regular artists on "Blondie," "Secret Agent X-9," "Pete the Tramp," "Popeye," and other strips. He passed away in 1977. Thanks for sharing the strip with me.
