Cartoonacy!

CELEBRATE CARTOONISTS DAY!

Do you remember anything about a comic strip (maybe in the 50's), possibly named Egbert, that featured two babies in the womb. They made comments to one another, such as "Mother's been sipping again" on days when they were disoriented, etc. Do you remember who created it? Or anything else about it?

Eggbert was the creation of "LAF," who was in reality cartoonist Lester A. Friedman. According to Amazon.com, there were four Eggbert books published in the 1970s, all of them now out of print, but possibly available through used book stores: Eggbert; Eggbert and Eggberta; Eggbert: Funny Side Up; and Eggbert: Belly Laughs.
The latter has the following listing in the Michigan State University library's comic art collection:
Belly Laughs / cartoons by LAF. -- New York : Pocket Books, 1974. -- 1 v. : ill. ; 18 cm. -- (Eggbert) -- (A Kangaroo book) -- Cartoonist is Lester A. Friedman. -- Subjects: Pregnancy, fetal behavior. -- Call no.: NC1763.P3L3 1974
