When I was a kid in Oregon, the Oregonian used to have a strip which featured Denny Dimwit. Someone was always saying, "Youse is a good boy, Denny Dimwit." Can I find this strip somewhere? Where can I view Denny Dimwit episodes? Hi! Can you tell me what strip Denny Dimwit appeared in? I thought it was CALLED Denny Dimwit, but apparently not. Thanks! Do you remember
a character out of the comic strips from perhaps the 1940's or 50's by
the name of Denny Dimwit? I may have spelled the name wrong. What comic strip featured Denny Dimwit? I remember him from the forties. In what comic strip did the character Denny Dimwit appear, what did he look like, and whar was the approximate time frame of the strip? Thanks if you can answer ... and thanks for trying if you can't. Can you tell me a little about the history of Denny Dimwit? and would like to know where i can see a picture of him. To show my skeptic husband! He imagines himself a cartoon aficionado. And has never believed me that there ever was a Denny Dimwit. Now that he has seen his name on the internet I would like to show him a picture. Thanks. Where could I find a copy (off Internet OK) of a Winnie Winkle comic strip featuring Denny Dimwit to display with my Denny Dimwit doll? Where is all this
interest in Denny Dimwit coming from??? I loved the Denny Dimwit cartoon strip as a kid and then one day it was no more. If Winnie Winkle is still going strong why was Denny Dimwit eliminated? My guess it was an early casualty of PI (Politically Incorrect). I'd appreciate your comments as to why it is no more. An interesting idea,
but not likely. Denny wasn't an ethnic stereotype, but more of a generic
dunce, which was (and is) still common in comics, movies, and TV. Thanks so much. I completely forgot about Winnie Winkle, but you described Denny Dimwit exactly as I remembered. For some reason out of the blue I referred to someone as "Denny Dimwit" the other day and then began to inquire if anyone remembered what strip he appeared in. Obviously no one did. So thank you again. Back in the (probably) late 1950's there was an episode of the Winnie Winkle strip in which Winnie and her brother Perry meet Denny Dimwit, returning as an adult. Do you know how I can find a copy of that episode? Thanks much. Denny returned to the "Winnie Winkle" storyline in early 1965, to attend the wedding of his boyhood buddy Perry. Below is the strip from Friday, March 13, 1956, courtesy of collector Todd Hillmer.
