Cartoonacy!

CELEBRATE CARTOONISTS DAY!

I am very interested in cartooning and my question is do you know of other cartooning correspondence courses besides Cartoonerama and the Joe Kubert school? I'm only interested in the ones being offered in the U.S.

At present, those are the only ones I know of. There used to be a course called "The Cartoon Coach" that advertised in the classifieds in the back of Artist's Magazine, but I haven't seen their ad in several years.
You might like to investigate one of the home video course in cartooning: see http://www.getcartooning.com/creators/creators.htm and http://www.bruceblitz.com/catalog.cfm
Or, if you're interested in teaching yourself from a book, I recommend "The Cartoonist's Workbook" by Robin Hall, and "Getting Started Drawing and Selling Cartoons" by Randy Glasbergen, both of which are liberally sprinkled with student exercises. See the "Books and Gifts" section of this website.
You might also be surprised if you check out the Continuing Education catalogs at a nearby high school or college. I stumbled across a class a few years ao taught by Tom Gill, former artist of the Lone Ranger comic strips and books. I signed up for the ten-week course, and learned a lot from it. (Most of all, that I had to learn to work at cartooning and keep deadlines, and not just think about how much I'd like to be doing it.)
